Affidavits & Statutory Declarations

Sworn statements prepared for use by a court, authority or overseas body — drafted so they say precisely what you can stand behind, then sworn and certified.

How it works

How we run the matter

  1. Tell us the purpose and who requires the declaration
  2. Draft the text, or adapt the prescribed form
  3. Review it line by line and remove what cannot be sworn
  4. Attend, swear or affirm before the attorney and sign
  5. Receive the certified declaration
  6. Proceed to further legalisation where required

Documents to prepare

  • Passport or Thai ID card
  • The prescribed form or instructions, if you were given one
  • Documents supporting the facts you will declare
  • The purpose and the destination country
  • The deadline for filing it

Common questions

The terms come from foreign legal systems and the receiving body usually specifies which it wants; in practice both are written statements you swear or affirm to be true, certified by the attorney who administered it. Tell us the wording requested and the document is prepared in that form.
A sworn false statement carries serious consequences — criminal exposure in Thailand and, abroad, the collapse of whatever application it supported. This is why we go through the draft line by line with you and cut anything you cannot personally vouch for. A shorter declaration you can stand behind beats a fuller one you cannot.
Either. If the receiving body gave you a prescribed form, we work within it; if not, we draft from your account of the facts and the purpose. Bringing their instructions — even a screenshot — saves the most time.
Often it needs the same onward chain as any other certified document — Ministry of Foreign Affairs, then the destination embassy. Confirm the requirement before you file anything, because a declaration certified but not legalised is a common and avoidable rejection. NOTARIAL_LIMITS
Yes — the oath or affirmation is taken from you personally, in front of the attorney, which is the whole basis of the certificate. Bring identification, and the appointment is usually completed the same visit. NOTARIAL_TIMEFRAME
