How it works

How we run the matter

  1. Tell us which documents and how many sets you need
  2. Confirm what the receiving body requires
  3. Attend with the originals and your identification
  4. Copies are compared against the originals and certified
  5. Take your originals and the certified sets away
  6. Proceed to translation or further legalisation where needed

Common questions

Yes. The attorney certifies that the copy matches the original he has seen, so the original must be produced at the appointment. It goes home with you — that is the whole purpose of the exercise.
Most receiving bodies accept them, but some insist on originals or on their own certification chain, and many require the copy to be legalised further before use. Confirm with the receiving body first — a certified copy prepared for the wrong requirement is a wasted trip. NOTARIAL_LIMITS
More than you think you need. Receiving bodies keep them, applications get resubmitted, and a second appointment costs more than an extra set made during the first. Applicants routinely return for copies they could have taken the same morning.
The copy can be certified as matching the original regardless of its language. Whether the destination also needs a certified translation is a separate question, and one worth asking before the trip — we arrange translation where it is required.
A copy certification needs someone to present the original, but it need not always be the signatory in person — a properly authorised representative can attend with the originals and the company’s documents. Tell us who will come and we confirm what they should bring.
