A daily fine accrues up to a cap, and longer overstays trigger re-entry bans measured in years when you leave. A short accidental overstay is usually resolved at departure; a long one shapes your options for the next decade — which is why we treat the expiry date as a deadline, not a suggestion.

Leaving without a re-entry permit voids the current permission to stay, and you re-enter on a fresh basis. A single or multiple re-entry permit obtained before departure preserves the extension. It is a small filing that saves an entire application.

Online filing exists and works within a set window before the due date, but it is not accepted in every situation, and a rejected online report still has to be fixed in person in time. We calendar the window so the fallback never becomes an emergency.

No, but the clock becomes short: a refusal leaves a limited period to depart or to act. Depending on the ground there may be a route to re-file on corrected evidence or to change basis, and choosing quickly matters more than choosing perfectly.
