How it works

How we run the matter

  1. Confirm the basis — spouse, child or dependant — and the evidence it needs
  2. Legalise, translate and record the foreign family documents
  3. Plan the financial evidence and its holding period
  4. File the Non-O application or in-country conversion
  5. File the extension, and prepare for the interview or residence visit
  6. Set the family’s reporting and renewal calendar

Documents to prepare

  • Passports, visas and entry stamps of every applicant
  • Marriage certificate or the child’s birth certificate, legalised and translated where foreign
  • The Thai family member’s ID card and house registration
  • Bank book and bank letter, or income evidence
  • Photographs of the family at the residence, where the basis requires them

Common questions

Currently applied as a Thai bank deposit of 400,000 baht held for the required period, or monthly income of 40,000 baht. As with all immigration figures these are set by regulation and office practice, so we confirm the position current at your filing date.
A marriage validly concluded abroad can be relied on, but the certificate has to be legalised, translated and, for several purposes, recorded with the Thai authorities before it works smoothly in filings. We prepare that document chain once, so every later application reuses it.
A marriage-basis extension can support a work permit, and the sponsoring-company conditions applied are lighter than under a Non-B. The exact criteria in force are confirmed case by case before the employer relies on them.
The basis of the permission falls away, so the status cannot simply roll on to the next renewal. There is usually time to transition to another basis — retirement, a Thai child, employment — and planning that transition early is the difference between a switch and an overstay.
Marriage-basis extensions include a consideration period while the file is reviewed, so they run longer than most categories. Indicative handling time once documents are complete: IMMIGRATION_TIMEFRAME.
